Goals Based on this basic policy and mission, the fourth period medium-term objectives and plans set forth the following goals: increase the number of students sent abroad, attract outstanding international students and network with them after their graduation, and provide international educational programs in cooperation with overseas universities, in order to foster internationally-minded human resources who have been exposed to different values. The faculty and staff will work together to realize the following three main plans: 1. To recruit excellent degree-seeking international students and to improve their satisfaction level, UF will develop a better system to host and support international students and establish an evaluation index to comprehensively assess the satisfaction level of international students. 2. To develop students into advnaced professionals who can contribute to the world, University of Fukui will improve their English language skills and international competence by providing various international study programs, including online programs for the post-COVID-19 era. University of Fukui will also develop the current Language Center into the Center for Global Human Resource Research and Development (tentative name), in order to diversify international education, evaluate global competency of students, and feedback the results to each program for continuous improvement. 3. In cooperation with the Headquarters for General Professional Development of Teachers, the Department of Professional Development of Teachers, Professional Graduate School, functions as a hub to establish an organization to promote international teacher education reform, which aims to create highly globalized curricula and educational content.
