F. Oberlin University offers financial aid to students from overseas who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and outstanding personal qualities and who can demonstrate financial need. Students who meet academic and other requirements are eligible to receive financial aid for a maximum of four years. The number of students to whom this help is provided varies from year to year. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) has a scholarship program for students from outside Japan who show great potential as both scholars and human beings. It is intended to take their academic pursuits to a higher level and to encourage friendship and understanding between Japan and these students’ home countries. The scholarship provides them with ¥48,000 per month for either half a year or a whole year. There is a variety of scholarships and grants available through privately-funded organizations. Applications are generally accepted at the same time for both the spring and fall semesters. In addition, there might be other sources of financial aid which students can find on their own by searching the Internet. Graduate Division With the aim of producing graduates who can make a positive contribution to global society, J. F. Oberlin University offers financial aid to students from overseas who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and outstanding personal qualities and who can demonstrate financial need. Students who meet academic and other requirements are eligible to receive financial aid for a maximum of two years (three years for doctoral students). At the beginning of each academic year, a maximum of two Master’s degree candidates and one doctoral candidate per program are eligible for this aid. Exchange and Study Abroad Students applying to the Exchange & Study Abroad Program are eligible for scholarship support from several sources: JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) may award several scholarships to Exchange & Study Abroad Program participants.
